The Rock-afire Explosion

As children of the 80's most of us have been to Show Biz Pizza once or twice. I always remember the pizza being really good (which it probably in reality wasn't) but my favorite part was the animatronic band called The Rock-afire Explosion.

Aparently when Show Biz Pizza went under, the company producing the animatronic characters still had 80 sets that had yet to be sold. Therefore, they have been selling them off to various collectors and Rock-afire Explosion fans. One fan figured out how to hack into the system and program the band to perform current songs such as Love in this Club by Usher. Check out the video below.

How funny is that???

Kid Rock

While I'm not the biggest Kid Rock fan, I did attend the concert this past Saturday. We went with a big group of people and did some tailgating before hand. Although the weather was not that great, we ended up having a ton of fun! And I actually enjoyed the concert too!

Gary and I rockin' our aviator sunglasses :-)

Danielle, Ryan and I using the hatchback for cover! Luckily it didn't rain too hard.

Kristie, Amanda and I on the hill...not sure why I even bothered curling my hair!

At least a few of us came prepared, I ended up wearing the pants of Lisa's rain suit on my head!

The Simon's Come to Visit

Last weekend I went home because Julie and Paul were in town for the weekend. I haven't seen since I was in Dallas for work in January. We had a good time hanging out at The Curraugh in Holland along with a few of my other guys friends from high school including Rick, Keith, and the Strabbing brothers.
It was so good to see you guys, Jules and Paulie! I'll have to make another trip to Texas soon! Maybe when it starts to get cold here in Michigan! :)

Goodbye Tiger's Stadium

As I was driving home from work the other day stuck in traffic, I noticed that I had a pretty decent view of the demolition of the old Tiger's Stadium. So, I decided to take a few pictures! Keep in mind, I was in a moving car (albeit a slow moving car) so they're not prize winning or anything.
It's quite a controversial subject around here. Most people hate to see it go. There's a lot of history in the place. Supposedly the city of Detroit wants to put a giant retailer (think Wal-Mart) or luxury condos (who's buying luxury condos anyway, especially in Detroit!) in it's place. Personally, if they're going to pay to demolish old buildings, knock down some of the crumbling, burned out houses and other buildings around town and leave history in its place.

4th of July

Thursday I took a half day and Gary was lucky to get out of work at 1:00 so we took off and headed up north to Walhalla for the weekend. My aunt was nice enough to let us stay the weekend at her and Scott's cottage along with my sister and her family. The weather was PERFECT and a great time was had by all.

I just love seeing the little guys, the grow so much each time I see them! I think Logan may be "following the leader" in this picture!

Chase also had the opportunity to eat his first s'more! I think he took about two bites and had enough. Apparently he's not too big on marshmallow! How can you not be?
Gary was assigned the task of entertaining Logan for a bit while the girls were busy. He did a good job for a few minutes but I think he ended up in tears. It's not Gary's fault though, he wasn't feeling that great anyway!

One of the highlights of the weekend was going the The Rendezvous with everyone for what we thought was going to be karaoke night. Unfortunately, it being the holiday they had expected to be dead and did not have karaoke. So we improvised and somehow Gary convinced the bar staff to let us play tippy cup. It took a few minutes, but the adults eventually caught on to the rules and were quite good at it. I think they may have even won the young vs. old match up!
It also happened to be Marge's 50th birthday so my Aunt had the clever idea of having all the ladies decorate a bra so we could hang it in her yard with a sign that said "Happy 50th Marge. We support you!". They turned out great, very creative stuff! Mine is the Dallas Cowboy looking number in the photo below. I kinda wanted to keep it. :)We had a big cookout in honor of Marge on Saturday night and Nick, Adam, and Exo's band played for our listening enjoyment!
MANY thanks to Aunt Paula and Scott for allowing us to crash for the weekend! We had a GREAT time!!!!

***UPDATE***: I stand corrected, apparently Logan started crying AFTER Gary was done playing with him. My mistake :)
