Would Cars Run on Alcohol?

Gas is $3.78 a gallon today in Detroit. I'm beginning to think it may be cheaper to fill my gas tank with vodka.

What is gas like by you?

Old School

Friday night a few of my good friends from high school came into town to celebrate Jeff's birthday. Amanda, Courtney and I went over to Keith's house for the evening to hang out with everyone. It was such a gorgeous night, we sat out on the deck all night. It felt so good to be able to wear a tank top and not FREEZE! It's always a good time to see those guys and I'm glad that we still hang out after all these years.

Prime Time Television...Oh How I've Missed You

Last night I had a few friends over to celebrate the return of Grey's Anatomy and LOST. It's been so long since the last episode of Grey's that I'd almost forgot what happened!! We dined on a nacho bar and sipped Coronas while enjoying the first new episodes of our favorite shows! It was fun! Thanks girls for helping me enjoy one of my guilty pleasures!

Support Southern Rock

Saturday night Gary and I, along with my friend Danielle and her boyfriend Brent, showed our support for good old southern rock by attending the Lynyrd Skynyrd and Hank Williams Jr. concert at The Palace. I've actually come to like the musical stylings of Skynyrd, although it's kinda been by default since Gary likes it so much. My first Skynyrd concert was the first time I went to visit Gary in San Diego which will always be a good memory for me. In case any of you were wondering, my favorite Skynyrd song is Tuesday's Gone. You may recognize it from the end of the movie Happy Gilmore, although that's not why I like it. :)
It was really fun. Not only was the music good but it's some of the BEST people watching you will ever find. One of the girls in front of us was wearing a Confederate Flag bandana...as a shirt. Real classy.

All for a Good Cause

Friday night my friend Kristie organized a benefit for family who's young son is suffering from a brain tumor. He's currently at St. Jude's for treatment while his dad travels back and forth every weekend. She did an amazing job organzing the whole event. After all was said and done, they raised $3,300 for the family!

It was a fun night and I'm glad I could be a part of it. Below is a picture of Kristie and I selling raffle tickets!

I love DVR

It makes watching American Idol so much easier. Get one, you need it.

Hello, Strangers.

It's been a while since I've posted anything, but my life has been pretty uneventful lately. However, I know a few people (ahem...my sister) who get angry when I don't post for a while. I completely understand where she's coming from...blog-hopping gets me going in the morning. It's what I do for at least the first half hour of my day. To quote Tracy, it's like my morning cup of Joe. Other people take coffee breaks, cigarette breaks, etc. but since I don't drink coffee regularly or smoke, I figure I'm entitled to the first few minutes of my day to get lost in the lifes of other people who always seem to be a little more interesting than me.

Today, I'm going to blow of some steam by writing about how angry I am at the department store called Macy's.

Gary and I bought a $150 sheet set from Macy's on Sunday as wedding gift off his buddy's registry. I went online the yesterday to make sure it had been taken off the registry and the price online said $89.99. Now, that's a huge difference. We're not talking a few bucks, but a $60 difference! So we decided to return the sheets and order them online. We brought them back last night and showed the lady the online registry showing the lower price. She indicated she couldn't adjust the price because it wouldn't account for shipping. We decided to just return them and then order them online. Keep in mind, we tried to return them WITH the original receipt dated just one day earlier, but the lady would only give us store credit. She said because it came off a registry that we could only get store credit in return. I agrued with her for a bit but she wouldn't give. So, we figured we'd just use the gift card online. After completeing the return and receiving the giftcard, the lady decides "just for fun" let's see if the sheets are on sale today. Sure enough! They're on sale for $89.99, the same price as online, even though she told us she couldn't give us the online price. Now we're stuck with $60 on a giftcard that we wouldn't have had to spend in the first place. To top it all off, I get home and notice on the back of the receipt that we were entitled to a price adjustment within 10 days of the original purchase. Now that would have been a hell of a lot easier wouldn't it? Stupid lady...

There I feel better, thanks ya'll for listening to me vent!

Chicago!

This weekend Gary was down in Myrtle Beach for his friends bachelor party. I was able to get away with the girls in Chicago to help Kristie celebrate her 25th birthday. We had lunch at Boston Blackies (an amazing place for burgers, highly recommended!) shopped in the afternoon and went back to the hotel to get ready for a night on the town. We had dinner at The Melting Pot which was actually quite fun, however it's rather expensive for the amount of food you get. After dinner we did some bar hopping around to Blue Agave, Casey Morands, and The Max Bar. We had SO much fun, it was a great weekend!! Happy 25th Kristie!

Here are a few pictures from Chicago:
